On December 18, the company held the 2019 DY Tech-Day exhibition to wrap up the year and share the achievements of its advanced technology development initiatives.

This event brought together executives and employees from the company, our affiliate SMRC, and partner companies from the DUK Association. It served as a valuable opportunity to share the latest technology developments and exhibit newly developed products, fostering mutual understanding of R&D directions and strengthening the foundation for sustainable cooperation. Through this, we aimed to build a shared vision for cultivating future capabilities to ensure long-term sustainability.

This year’s in-house new technology exhibition featured 29 key innovations across several themes, including lightweight solutions, cost reduction, product enhancement, convergence of electric/electronic technologies, and futuristic interior designs. Among the 17 innovations exhibited by the company were:

• Low-density foamed injection molding for lightweighting,
• Large-area lighting-integrated door trims, and
• Integrated door modular technology 

— all of which received positive recognition at the HMC Tech-Day Festival.

In addition, 12 new technologies were showcased by our partners, including Sewon and LG Hausys, making this year’s event the most extensive and refined in both scale and substance.

The company also introduced the development direction of its second concept vehicle interior model, following the DFM-C01 (Duckyang Future Model – Concept 01). The model incorporated the idea of a “Transform Interior” — an adaptable space where the future and present coexist and respond to changing conditions. This highlighted our vision for the next generation of interior technologies and set a clearer direction for future business opportunities, receiving strong interest and encouragement from employees.
